I Am Visually Impaired

I Am Visually Impaired

Unlike some disabilities, visual impairment isn't always obvious, and this may be preferable to the individual, or a cause of frustration in their life.

We have found that once a person is ready to share that they are visually impaired, it helps to have symbols and signs which tell people they may need assistance, or more time to do things and get about.

To most of us some of the more obvious symbols might include a Guide Dog, or a white cane, however statistics suggest that actually only 2% of blind or visually impaired people in the UK use these for support.

So what else is there?

At The Partially Sighted Society we have developed a range of wearable items and signs, with a variety of terms for sight loss, such as Partially Sighted, Visually Impaired, Blind - which is always personal to the individual:

Our Products include:

Badges
Armbands
Lanyards
and more...

These can help to raise awareness, and start some positive conversations around the hidden disability that is sight loss
