Caleb Nanevie

Caleb Nanevie

It was an absolute pleasure to welcome Caleb Nanevie of Team GB's Goalball team to our group today! Caleb is truly an inspiration, having lost his sight at age 7 due to a severe allergic reaction to Penicillin, causing a rare condition called Stevens-Johnson syndrome.

Caleb is now a pivotal member of Great Britain's Goalball squad, with his team aiming to make the Paralympics in Paris next year.

Before he travels to Montenegro next week for their shot at qualifying for the games, Caleb took the time to tell us how he got into the sport, how he trains and how he hope to grow the game so more people can get involved (and bring medals home to us).

Check out this video of Caleb when he was featured on BBC Look North which gives you a quick glance of Caleb's sight loss and Goalball journey.
